Model construction
The building instructions are usually illustrated, without text. With a careful step-by-step procedure, even a beginner can build this model. First, check the completeness of the kit and carefully study the building instructions. Prepare a workbench, tools (tweezers, model knife, pry bar, various brushes), glue and paints. It is advisable to prepare a box where you can put the finished building groups while the glue dries. Separate the parts from the frame with sharp plastic cutters or a sharp model knife. Be careful not to let the part jump off and get lost. Always separate from the frame only the part that you will use immediately. Apply glue in the smallest amount necessary and only to the contact surfaces of the parts. The cleaner your work is, the more beautiful the result will be. Do not rush when building, it is usually better to let the glue dry thoroughly, even until the next day.
Painting the model
Use special model paints, thanks to which you usually achieve the best result. Before painting, it is a good idea to thoroughly degrease the surface of the model. It is good to paint some small parts directly in the frame before separating them from the frame. Use a thin brush to paint small parts. Use a wide brush to paint large areas of the model. Always let the individual colors dry well, this will prevent you from ruining the entire model just because of impatience.
Recommendation
To achieve the perfect look of car models, or if you need to paint a larger area (civilian aircraft fuselages, ship hulls), we recommend spraying the surface with TAMIYA spray (you can find a wide selection in our offer) or with a model airbrush. A model with a sprayed surface has a much more realistic appearance than one painted with a brush or left in the color of the plastic.
Working with stickers
The kit usually includes "decal" stickers, which must be carefully cut out and soaked in warm water for 20-30 seconds before application. Then remove them from the water and place them on a smooth surface (such as a glass table) for a while. The sticker will first curl slightly and then straighten out under the influence of the water. After about a minute, try to move the sticker very carefully on the backing paper. If it moves freely, you can carefully transfer it to the desired location on the model. First, slightly moisten the area where you want to place the sticker with water, or use a drop of softener for stickers. Then place the sticker on the model and carefully remove excess water with a soft cloth or paper towel. Press the sticker to the surface for a while with your finger and a dry soft cloth. Be careful, if you have used softener, do not touch the surface of the sticker unnecessarily until it dries, as you can completely destroy it.
Health protection
We recommend using a respirator or other respiratory protection when sanding. Dust generated when grinding plastic, PUR parts, 3D print parts, or sealants can later cause health problems. We also recommend using eye protection. Small parts can fly off during work and endanger your eyesight. We recommend using protective gloves when working with paints and thinners. The workplace should be well ventilated.
