The package contains the E-flite Apprentice STS 1.5m RC airplane model with installed components: E-flite AC motor BL15 840rpm, E-flite AC regulator 30A Smart, 4pcs E-flite servo Standard 37g, 2pcs E-flite servo Micro 13g Digital , Spektrum control unit: Apprentice STS, Spektrum receiver Serial Micro SRXL2 DSMX with connector. The set also includes a Spektrum DXs DSMX transmitter, instructions in Slovak, EN, DE, FR, IT manuals.
To put it into operation, you will need to add a 3S 2200mAh LiPol battery with a charger to the set - see recommended accessories.
Characteristics
New electronics in the proven Apprentice STS 15e model are ideal for pilot training, new options with SAFE and AS3X functions, DXS transmitter. You can also have SAFE+ features (AutoLand and Virtual Fence) with an optional GPS module and landing sensor (not included). Electronics are installed. You only need to top up the drive battery with charger.
In the basic version of the set, you will have a complete model that has flight modes with the protection of the SAFE flight envelope. However, if you want take-off and landing assistance and a virtual fence, you can buy an additional GPS module with a landing sensor (LAS) and you will get the SAFE Plus function, thanks to which you will have a flight assistant that knows automatic landing - AutoLand, return above the starting point - Holding Pattern and a virtual fence with a limitation of the distance of the model from the starting point - Virtual Fence.
The E-flite® Apprentice® STS 1.5m is based on one of the best platforms ever designed for learning to fly radio controlled aircraft - the proven Apprentice S 15e model. The model is intended for beginners and moderately advanced pilots. It is made of solid and very durable material Z-Foam. The model stands out for its quiet flight thanks to the wing with a semi-symmetrical profile, the flight is therefore reasonably slow and very stable. The wide 3-wheel landing gear has a steerable front wheel, so take-off and landing are very easy. The RC set is in the 2.4GHz band with DSMX modulation, the proven Spektrum DXS transmitter will ensure a secure connection.
The model will allow you to continue developing your piloting skills. Thanks to the suitable construction and powerful motor, you can start learning the basic elements of acrobatics. Apprentice STS can handle somersaults, twists, deadlifts and flying on the back. Of course, you have to turn off the SAFE flight envelope protection to have full control freedom. You can even install optional floats and take off and land on water.

Optional LAS (Landing Assist Sensor)
If you decide to supplement the model with GPS, you can also add a completely new automatic landing assist sensor to the model, the Spektrum Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) SPMA3180. It is easy to install and provides automatic control during the hard landing phase. The sensor can read the height of the model above the ground and better guide the model to the exact height at which it will perform sub-planes and landing. It thus eliminates unwanted bounces when landing from a greater height and reduces the possibility of damage.
Telemetry option
The Apprentice STS 1.5m is equipped with a telemetry controller that can provide a range of power system related telemetry data in real time to a compatible transmitter. It also indicates the flight battery voltage via LEDs and audio alerts from the DXS transmitter, which is part of the basic version of the RTF. It will also provide motor speed, current, total battery voltage and more for Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and more)
Solid rigid and light construction of the model
The construction of the E-flite Apprentice STS model is made of very durable and light EPO foam. The wing is attached to the fuselage with rubber bands so it can be released in the event of a hard landing or crash to minimize damage. In the event that you damage any parts or components of the kite and they cannot be repaired by gluing, a range of spare parts is available.
Simple and quick assembly
Apprentice STS 1.5m has completely installed electronics and drive. What should be done? Just to complete a quick and final assembly and without the use of glue. Therefore, you will be ready for flight in a short time and after completing the model with your battery, you can start.
Great chassis choice
The landing gear used has ideal characteristics for a training model aircraft. It is wide so that the model does not tip over, 3-wheeled for a stable and fully steerable start and landing and has excellent maneuverability when rolling. In addition, thanks to the front leg, it does not roll over on the propeller and therefore does not damage it.
Optional floats
Do you have a body of water nearby and are you a fan of seaplanes? Equip the Apprentice STS model with floats! With the optional EFLA550 float kit you'll be up and running in minutes, and all necessary mounting hardware is included with the model and float kit.
Optional landing assist sensor
The Spektrum Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) is easy to install and can provide automatic assistance during landing. Assists inexperienced pilots in landing by detecting height above terrain for accurate alignment and minimizes or eliminates bounce (works on most surfaces and ensures a safe landing).
Mode Beginner
A beginner, it has a limited tilt with the elevator and ailerons, when the levers are released into neutral, the model stabilizes in a horizontal position, the engine speed is regulated according to the climb or descent, and there is also assistance during take-off and landing.
Advanced mode
Advanced mode allows the model to tilt more, but it will not roll over on its back or fall. Flight positions are limited to approximately 60° tilt. There is already a lot of control freedom and minimal flight corrections are made. When flying above 15m, the automatic comparison of the model to the horizontal position after releasing the levers is not functional.
Expert mode
In the Expert flight mode, control is completely free without corrections and without restrictions on flight positions. You can even fly on your back and perform acrobatic maneuvers.
Measuring the voltage of the drive accumulator
The transmitter has 4 LEDs on the front of the case under the transmitter battery voltage indicator, which can inform you about the state of the flight battery. In order for this function to be accessible, it is necessary to use a receiver and controller compatible with the Smart system. Four green LEDs illuminate when the flight battery is fully charged, 3 indicate voltage between half and full charge, 2 a half-charged battery, and one LED. If the battery is almost empty, the transmitter also emits a warning tone in this situation.

AutoLand, assisted landing
After activating and pressing the button, the AutoLand Assisted Landing function will be activated and the Carbon Cub S+ will independently land at the launch initialization location. You can interrupt the automatic landing at any time with the simple press of a button, avoid obstacles or adjust the direction or, if there is no danger, let the system work to bring the model to a safe landing. As you gain more confidence, you can take more control and eventually learn to land unassisted.
Holding Pattern - circling above the take-off point
This clever exclusive SAFE Plus feature allows you to essentially "pause" your flight so that when activated and quickly pressed, the aircraft will automatically return to a position above the GPS start point and circle until the command is cancelled. It's a great way to safely hand off control to a buddy or regain visual contact if you're not in control and don't know the model's position.
Virtual Fence - Virtual fence
It's very easy to let the model fly too far, but with Virtual Fence you don't have to worry anymore because it creates an invisible boundary that the model won't cross. When it reaches this limit, it automatically turns around and flies back, then flaps its wings to signal that steering control has been re-established.
Panic Recovery - Panic flight recovery
If you ever lose control of the aircraft in more advanced flight modes, simply switch to beginner mode and release the control sticks. SAFE® Plus technology automatically returns the aircraft to level flight.
Recommended batteries
To power the model, we recommend a driving LiPol battery with 3 cells (11.1 V).
