Product detailed description

Specially developed spray paints by Ghiant intended for the final treatment of clear polycarbonate bodies of RC models. The body is sprayed from the inside so that the can is about 15-30 cm from the surface. These paints are quick-drying and resistant to oils and fuels, so they can be safely used on RC models with internal combustion engines. Compared to pre-painted bodies, these paints are allowing a reduce to the total weight of the 1/10 scale model by up to 15g, which is an advantage for models with a lower center of gravity.

Volume: 150ml

Note: The color shade presented on the monitor or in the printed form may be slightly different from the actual one.

Before use, mix the paint well by shaking the container for at least 1 minute.

Painting a Lexan body: First of all, be aware that lexan bodies are usually sprayed from the inside (so the paint doesn't rub off when bumped). That is why, especially in the case of multi-colored body modification, it is necessary to think very well in advance about the spraying process. First, very thoroughly degrease the inner surface of the body using Tamiya Polycarbonate Body Cleaner (87118) or kitchen cleaning detergent. Then cover the windows with masking tape/foil or liquid mask. Then mask all body parts that are to be a different color than the first visible shade (for multi-colored bodies). Apply the paint in an even thin layer from a distance of 20-30 cm. It is better to gradually apply 2-3 thin layers than one thick one. After spraying the first thin layer, look over the body against the light to see if the paint covers everything. Spray the translucent areas again, but only after the first layer has dried. Remove the protective mask before applying the next color. To highlight the body color, it is good to spray a thin layer of white, black, or silver paint at the very end (depending on whether the body color is light, dark, or metallic). This will highlight the body color itself and make it look nicer.

Spraying Fluorescent Shades: Fluorescent paints do not show up like normal shades when applied. When spraying them, it is necessary to maintain a very thin layer of spray. They must always be applied at temperatures above 15 ° C. Spray them from a distance of 15-20 cm from the surface. After about 30 minutes, apply the final coating of white RC Car shade. Only then will the desired fluorescent effect be achieved!

Spraying Pearlescent / Metallic Shades: Pearlescent and metallic colors must be sprayed onto the surface first. Special care must be taken to ensure that they are applied in very thin layers! After spraying the necessary layers, let the surface dry for about 10 minutes and spray it with the appropriate base color.

Spray RC CAR Chrome: The chrome effect depends on how closely you follow the procedure. The recommended working temperature is 20 ° C. Spray very thin layers (+/-15) with intervals of approx. 2 minutes. In this way, you will prevent an undesirable appearance (matte finish). Then spray RC Car & Chrome lacquer or RC Car Color Smoke 419 from a distance of approx. 30 cm in very thin layers (+/- 8) to fix the chrome color. When using chrome, do not sand the bodywork (scratched effect)!!!

Spraying JADE and SAFIER Shades: Use black or any dark color to overlay these shades to achieve the desired (shifting) effect.

Drying time: The paint dries to the touch within 20-30 minutes, but it takes at least 4 hours to fully dry, depending on the thickness of the layer. It is recommended to wait at least 12-24 hours before spraying with a new layer.

Cleaning the nozzle: After spraying, turn the container upside down and briefly press the valve. Wipe the remains of the paint from the nozzle with a dry cloth, or soaked in cleaner for airbrushes, e.g. Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner or another brand.
