Product detailed description

The Vought F-4U Corsair was the most powerful American carrier-based fighter aircraft of World War II. After solving the initial problems (too rigid landing gear and poor visibility from the cabin complicating landing on aircraft carriers), together with the Grummans, the Hellcat took care of sweeping the Japanese air force from the skies over the Pacific. Corsairs also successfully operated in the colors of the British Fleet Air Arm and from ground airfields in Marine Corps squadrons. It lasted in the service of the US Navy and Marines until the end of the 1950s, when, in the role of a fighter-bomber, it played a significant role in intercepting the initial onslaught of communist North Korea at the beginning of the Korean War.

The Corsair, like the rest of the Baby Warbirds range, is a neat little model made of nearly indestructible extruded polypropylene (EPP) suitable for recreational flying. As an excellent follow-up model, it will be appreciated by everyone who has already mastered piloting an airplane with controlled wings and wants to send a "real fighter" into the air. "Baby Warbirds" are ideal "backseat of the car" models, easy to transport - and can be safely flown in confined spaces; you don't even have to have an asphalt runway. Thanks to the fact that they also have a directional control (which is not very common in this category), you will be able to enjoy flying and all acrobatic turns just as you know them from "adult" warbirds.

The entire model is assembled from EPP parts pressed into a negative mold. In the ARF kit, you get an almost finished model with sprayed camouflage and a mounted motor, 20 A regulator and four 9g servos. According to the illustrative pictorial instructions, the construction is very simple and even a less experienced "builder" can handle it. You only need to glue the horizontal tail surface, screw the wing, glue the antenna model, put on the landing gear, mount the propeller, fix and check the receiver and insert the drive battery. The landing gear is easily removable, so you can adjust the model to take off from your hand and land on your stomach in the grass. The ailerons (two servos with short straight rods), rudder, elevator and engine speed are controlled.
