The new Ranger 1800 made of almost indestructible EPO foam will definitely not be missed in the sky thanks to its 1800 mm span. Large dimensions, attractive appearance follows on from the popular smaller Ranger 1200, pleasant flight characteristics, wheeled landing gear and the option to purchase a set of floats - an ideal recreational model for every more advanced pilot...

The EPO foam model fuselage is supplied with a C3541-750 rotary shroud AC motor fitted, with a 45A AC regulator and elevator servo fitted. In the upper front part, there is a space for batteries easily accessible thanks to the removable cover. For the Ranger 1800, you will need Li-Pol 4-cells 3300-4000 mAh with a load capacity of 35C.

The EPO tail surfaces are attached to the fuselage with screws. The elevator servo is stored on the side in the tail part of the fuselage, the rudder servo is installed in the keel.

The wing, also made of EPO foam with a modified Clark-Y profile, is two-part, connected by a carbon joint. The halves are attached to the fuselage at the front and at the back with 2 screws. Ailerons and flaps are each controlled by two servos stored in the wing with short straight cables.

The chassis with controlled suspension front leg is wire. Ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevator and engine speed are controlled.

Floats can be purchased as special accessories; they are EPO foam with wire struts; the left float has a water rudder that controls a special servo stored inside. You will definitely appreciate it when taking off and landing on the water!

To control the model, you will need at least a 5-channel, but preferably at least a 7-channel RC kit, which allows independent control and adjustment of the aileron and flap servos (requires modification of the pre-installed aileron and flap servo cabling). In that case, you can also set the differentiation of wing deflections; at the beginning 10-20% - ie. the downward deflection of the aileron is smaller compared to the upward deflection. In this way, the control of the model will become more pleasant, which will have a smaller tendency to "float" out of the turn. You can achieve a similar effect by using a wing-rudder mix, or it is possible to combine them together - with the aileron-rudder mix you will "catch" the initial transition into the turn, the differentiation will improve your own passage through the turn.

Ranger 1800 is intended for more advanced modellers. The model, as a sporty "box-shaped" high-wing aircraft, will introduce you to the features that are typical for similar machines - you will be required to properly coordinate the control of the model with the rudder, ailerons and elevator. You will use this experience when flying with your first aerobatic model or a larger (semi) model of any kind.

The ARF set includes: a finished model with an AC electric motor, a two-bladed propeller, a speed controller and 6 servos, a set of wheeled chassis, a set of small accessories and instructions.
