Detailed product description
Prusament PLA is Prusa Research's own in-house produced filament. The entire production process is carefully monitored and measured - thanks to this, the manufacturer guarantees a manufacturing deviation of ±0.02mm (±0.03mm for mixtures) and high color stability. You can check all the parameters of each spool it produces at prusament.com (Scan the QR code on the spool and see all the details online)

PLA is the simplest material for 3D printing. It is inexpensive and suitable for both beginners and advanced users. It can be used to print detailed models, figures and rapid prototypes that do not require increased mechanical, chemical or temperature resistance.
PLA is the most widely used filament, known for its great appearance and easy printability. Its low thermal expansion means it will warp minimally during printing, making it an excellent choice for printing large objects. Its low melting point also makes it suitable for small parts.
While PLA is not as tough and durable as some advanced materials, its versatility makes it ideal for a range of applications, including large objects, miniatures, concept models and prototypes that don’t need to be particularly durable.
Print Settings:
Nozzle - 215 °C
Heated Bed - 50-60 °C
Recommended Print Plate - Smooth PEI / Textured (Grainy Surface) / Satin
Features:
+ Easy to Print
+ Suitable for prints of any size
+ Hard
+ Does not deform
- Brittle
- Low resistance to high temperatures
- Difficult to sand (hard material, easy to melt)
Tips and Tricks for Beginners:
- Sanding
When processing PLA, it is better to use wet sanding. Without water, you will quickly heat the plastic by friction, it will melt and deform locally. Without water, the sanding material would also easily get stuck. - Bonding
PLA can be bonded with many types of adhesives. For most parts, we recommend using superglue. Some PLA filaments can also be glued with acetone, but it depends heavily on the various additives and colors used.
