Prusament Refill is an eco-friendly way to refill your empty spools. When you run out of Prusament and your spool is empty, simply remove the sides of the spool and place them on the Prusament Refill, which comes wound onto the spool core.

How to install a Prusament Refill Spool

Prusament spool consists of two black plastic sides and a cardboard core. The sides simply slide onto the core, so they can be folded and reused or recycled. Please note that there are also gray Prusament spools that are wound with advanced materials. These have the sides glued to the cardboard core, as some filaments require high-temperature drying.

To easily separate the sides from the cardboard core, use a simple trick: start anywhere on the spool and use your hands to pull the side away from the center. Turn the spool and gently pull the side away again. Continue this process around the entire circumference of the spool. Use appropriate force and you'll be done in no time.

Prusament PLA is Prusa Research's own in-house produced filament. The entire production process is carefully monitored and measured - thanks to this, the manufacturer guarantees a manufacturing deviation of ±0.02mm (±0.03mm for mixtures) and high color stability. Tips and Tricks for Beginners:

• Sanding
  When processing PLA, it is better to use wet sanding. Without water, you will quickly heat the plastic by friction, it will melt and deform locally. Without water, the sanding material would also easily get stuck.
  
• Bonding
  PLA can be bonded with many types of adhesives. For most parts, we recommend using superglue. Some PLA filaments can also be glued with acetone, but it depends heavily on the various additives and colors used.
