Product detailed description

A basic train set containing everything you need to get started with model railways

Scale: HO 1/87

Dimensions of the circuit: 150 x 100 cm

This set includes:
1 locomotive
2 passenger cars
1 analog controller
1 transformer
1 railway crossing
12x arc R2
3x straight line G1
1x straight line G1/2
1x straight line G1/2 with power supply

The basic model railway starter kit contains everything needed to build a simple track circuit and get it up and running right away. The track circuit can be expanded indefinitely by purchasing individual pieces of track or expansion track sets.

This basic set includes classic analog control allowing smoothly controlled driving of the locomotive.

The set, marked with a rectangle symbol with 8 dots, has a locomotive with a connector for connecting a digital decoder, for the possibility of digital control in the future after purchasing the necessary elements.

Explanation
Analogue control allows you to control only one locomotive at a time. If you put two locomotives on the track, they will both move at the same time, in the same direction.
Digital control makes it possible to control several locomotives at the same time through a single controller, while each of them on the same track can go at a different speed and in a different direction (or even stop).

Connecting the track
Connect the individual tracks together with slight pressure so that the opposite pieces are inserted into the grooves in the couplings. Do not use force, the rails may bend. Make sure that dirt does not get between the contacts. One track is equipped with a connection to the regulator. On the regulator, there are two inputs for connecting the tracks and two for connecting the transformer. Press the button of the connector, insert the end of the wire from the tracks into the hole, and release the button to secure the wire in the hole. Repeat the procedure with the second wire (pole). Also connect the ends of the cable from the transformer. Finally, connect the transformer to the 220V electrical network.
Disconnecting the track
Proceed in exactly the reverse order of joining. FIRST(!) disconnect the transformer from the mains. Then disconnect all the electrical connections and finally the individual tracks. After use, we recommend putting the parts back in the original box and storing them in a dry and cool place.
Track cleaning
Protect the tracks from contamination. Otherwise, their conductive properties will deteriorate and the train will not run smoothly, or it will not work at all. We recommend occasionally cleaning the track surface with a special cleaning wagon or cleaning block PIKO 55281.
Driving a locomotive
Be sure to check the track before using the locomotive to make sure it is clean and properly connected. Place the locomotive on the track and check the correct position of all wheels. Turn the dial slowly and set the speed you want the locomotive to go. If the locomotive does not move after turning the controller, or does not run smoothly, check whether it is correctly placed on the tracks, whether all track parts are connected correctly, whether there is a short circuit somewhere.
Locomotive maintenance
The locomotive is a delicate electromechanical device, requiring careful handling and regular maintenance. Protect it from impacts, moisture and dust. For basic maintenance, it is sufficient to drop fine machine oil on the drive gears (a small amount). Protect locomotive wheels from oil to ensure good electrical contact between wheel rim and track. If hair or hair from the carpet gets caught on the axle of the wheels, it is necessary to carefully remove them so that the wheels can rotate freely.
Locomotive service life
The service life of moving parts and the engine is limited by the intensity of operation and the conditions of use. Cardan shafts, gear teeth and carbons on the electric motor are subject to natural wear caused by operation. The service life can be extended by regular lubrication and cleaning. A locomotive that runs several hours a day wears out sooner than one that is only used occasionally.

Warning
This model train set is not a toy suitable for children under the age of 8! The locomotive, wagons and tracks are fragile and require careful handling. Some parts have sharp edges and corners that could cause injury to a child if used carelessly without adult supervision. Small parts could be swallowed by a small child! The transformer is an electrical device and should be inspected before each use for signs of surface damage or damage to the power cord. In case of doubt, or in case of damage, it should not be used until it has been checked and repaired by an expert. It is intended for indoor use only! Only use the supplied transformer, always under adult supervision and unplug it whenever the track is not in use or when cleaning. A transformer is not a toy. As with any electrical device, there is a risk of electric shock if handled incorrectly.
