Product detailed description
Plastic kit, contains unassembled and unpainted parts. In some types of kits, there are also additional metal, PUR and rubber parts. Attention, contains small parts, keep out of reach of children under 3 years old. Not suitable for children under 14 years of age.
To assemble the model, you need to purchase: Plastic glue, paints, brushes, modeling tools. Gift Set / Model Set kits can also include basic colors, glue and a brush.
Building the model
Assembly instructions are usually pictorial, without text. With a careful step-by-step procedure, even a beginner can build this model. First, check the completeness of the kit and carefully study the assembly instructions. Prepare a work table, work tools (tweezers, modeling knife, nippers, various brushes), glue and paints. It is advisable to prepare a box where you can put the finished construction groups until the glue dries. Separate the parts from the frame with sharp plastic nippers or a sharp modeling knife. Be careful not to let the part bounce off you and get lost. Always separate from the frame only the part that you will use right away. Apply the glue in the smallest necessary amount and only on the contact surfaces of the parts. The cleaner your work, the better the result. Do not rush the construction, it is usually better to let the glue dry thoroughly, even until the next day.
Coloring the model
Use special modeling paints, they usually give you the best result. Before painting, it is good to thoroughly degrease the surface of the model. It is good to paint some small parts directly in the frame before you separate them from the frame. Use a thin brush to paint small parts. Use a wide brush to paint large areas of the model. Always let the individual colors dry well, this will prevent spoiling the entire model just because of impatience.
Recommendation
To achieve the perfect appearance of car models, or if you need to paint a larger area (civilian aircraft hulls, ship hulls), we recommend spraying the surface with TAMIYA color spray (you can find a wide selection in our offer) or with an airbrush model spray gun. A model with a sprayed finish has a much more realistic appearance than one that is painted with a brush or left in the color of plastic.
Working with stickers
The kit usually includes "decal" stickers, which must be carefully cut out and soaked in warm water for 20-30 seconds before application. Then take them out of the water and place them on a smooth surface (such as a glass table) for a while. The sticker first curls slightly and then flattens out due to the influence of water. After about a minute, try very carefully to move the sticker on the backing paper. If it moves freely, you can move it carefully to the desired place on the model. First, slightly moisten the place where you want to place the sticker with water, or use a drop of softener for stickers. Then place the sticker on the model and carefully absorb excess water with a soft cloth or paper towel. Press the sticker to the surface for a while with dry, soft cloth. Attention, if you have used a softening agent, do not touch the surface of the sticker unnecessarily until it dries, because you can completely destroy it.
Health protection
We recommend using a respirator or other respiratory protection when grinding. Dust generated when sanding plastic, PUR parts, 3D print parts, or sealants can later cause health problems. We also recommend using eye protection. Small parts can bounce off while working and endanger your eyesight. We recommend wearing protective gloves when working with paints and thinners. The workplace should be well ventilated.
