Tuning portal axles for Traxxas TRX-4M/T 1:18 RC model cars increase off-road capability by raising the axles. The installation of portal axles raises the center ground clearance by more than 10 mm for unrivaled cross-country ability and widens the wheelbase by 9 mm for high stability with an increased center of gravity.

Axles are delivered fully assembled and ready for easy installation. All-metal gears are used in the gantry axle gearbox, and the shafts are stored in sliding bearings. In order to maintain the original speed and torque, two sets of gears are included, which are installed in either the factory one-speed transmission or the tuning two-speed transmission.

For standard single speed transmission - Use the included red gears to maintain the model's original speed. Or keep the standard gears (do not install new gears) for reduced speed and difficult slow overcoming of obstacles. Portal axles are not compatible with Low Range tuning gears.

For optional 2-speed transmission (TRA9891) - Use the included blue gears to maintain the model's standard speed in high gear and "crawl" speed in low gear.
