Practically finished semi-model of a high-performance Polish aerobatic glider with a wingspan of 2400 mm made of almost indestructible carbon-reinforced extruded polyolefin foam (EPO) for thermal and slope flying.
In the front part, a C3548-750 alternating electric motor with a folding 11x8" propeller and a KAVAN R-50SB regulator with a powerful BEC power stabilizer are installed, which drives 4 powerful microservos on board.
The cockpit cover is removable, secured by a pin at the front and a magnet at the back. In the front part there is enough space for the drive battery and receiver. The rudder and elevator servos are located in the keel and the rudders are operated by short straight wire rods.
The wing is two-piece, with carbon fiber spars, the protruding parts of which also serve as a wing coupling that fits into duralumin bushings in the fuselage. The wing halves are secured in place with a plastic screw. The ailerons along the entire span of the wing (reinforced with carbon tubes) are independently controlled by two servos with short straight wire rods.
The tail surfaces are also made of EPO foam with carbon tube stiffeners. The horizontal tail surface is attached to the fuselage with a pair of screws that allow for easy installation and removal.
For power supply, you will need a four-cell LiPo with a capacity of 2200-2700 mAh with a load capacity of at least 30C. Choose a specific type so that the correct position of the center of gravity suits you best without additional load.
To control the model in emergency situations, you can get by with a four-channel RC kit without special functions - in the basic version, the wings are connected with a Y-cable to only one channel. Of course, it is ideal to use at least a six-channel RC set allowing independent control of the ailerons with two servos and their mixing as aerodynamic brakes (both ailerons deflect upwards), which is also possible today with affordable Radiolink AT9S or AT10II or Futaba T6K or T10J. In this case, it is necessary to replace the aileron Y-cable in the fuselage with two (15-30 cm) extension cables. Of course, the manual includes a thorough table of proven rudder deflection settings (including mixes) so you can easily prepare the Swift for flight.
