The locomotive is ready for the installation of a sound and smoke module. This train set is intended for indoor and outdoor use, for example in the garden or in a nature reserve.

Basic model railway set. Contains everything you need to assemble a track circuit and get it running immediately. The track circuit can be expanded indefinitely by purchasing individual tracks or expansion track sets.

This set includes classic (analog) Piko control, allowing for smoothly controlled movement of the locomotive around the circuit.

If the set is marked with a distinctive symbol, it has a locomotive with a connector for connecting a digital decoder and therefore the possibility of digital control in the future after purchasing the necessary elements.

Explanation
Classic (analog) control allows you to control only one locomotive at a time. If you place two locomotives on the track, they will both move at the same time, in the same direction and speed.
Digital control allows you to control several locomotives at the same time via a single controller, each of which can go at a different speed and direction on the same track.

Connecting the track
Connect the tracks together with slight pressure so that the opposing pieces fit into the grooves in the connectors. Do not use force, as this could cause the tracks to bend. After assembling the track, select a straight section for connecting the power supply. Insert the connector block into the windows between the track and the sleepers so that the copper contacts make good contact from below the tracks. Make sure that no grease or dirt gets between the contacts. Insert the ends of the cables from the control unit into the connector block by pressing the button, which opens the hole for inserting one wire (pole) of the cable. Insert the end of the wire and release the button to secure it in the hole. Repeat the procedure with the second wire (pole). Insert the transformer connector into the controller from below and insert the cable into the groove. Finally, connect the transformer to the electrical outlet. The circuit is now connected and the track is ready for use.
Disconnecting the track
Proceed in the reverse order of connecting the track. FIRST(!) Disconnect the transformer from the electrical network by pulling the plug. Then disconnect all electrical connections and finally the individual parts of the track.
Cleaning the tracks
The tracks must be protected from dirt. Otherwise, their conductive properties will deteriorate and the train will not run smoothly. We recommend occasionally cleaning the surface of the tracks with a special cleaner, never with water or oil. The ideal is the cleaning wagon or the PIKO 55281 cleaning block. After finishing use and dismantling the track, put the parts back in the original box and store in a dry place.
Driving the locomotive
Place the locomotive on the track and check the correct position of all wheels. Slowly turn the control and set the speed at which you want the locomotive to run. If the locomotive does not move after turning the control knob or does not run evenly, check whether it is correctly placed on the tracks, whether all track parts are connected correctly, and whether there is no short circuit somewhere.
Locomotive maintenance
A locomotive is a delicate device that requires careful handling and regular maintenance. Protect it from impacts, moisture, and dust. For basic maintenance, it is enough to drip a drop of fine machine oil onto the drive gears. Protect the locomotive wheels from greasing to ensure good electrical contact between the wheel and the track. If hair gets wrapped around the wheel axle, it must be carefully removed.
Locomotive service life
The service life of moving parts and the engine is limited by the intensity of operation and the conditions of use. Cardan shafts, gearing on the gears, and carbon brushes on the electric motor are subject to natural wear caused by operation. Their service life can be significantly extended by regular lubrication and cleaning. It is necessary to take into account that a locomotive that runs for several hours a day will wear out sooner than a locomotive that is only used occasionally.

This train set is not a toy suitable for children under 8 years of age! The locomotive, wagons and tracks are detailed, fragile and require careful handling. Some parts have sharp edges and corners, which could cause injury to a child if used carelessly without adult supervision. Small parts could be swallowed by a small child! The transformer is an electrical device and should be checked before each use for signs of damage to the surface or for damaged power cord. In case of doubt or damage, it should not be used until it has been checked and repaired by a specialist. It is intended for indoor use only! Use only the transformer supplied, always under adult supervision. Always unplug the power cord when the track is not in use. The transformer is not a toy. As with any electrical device, there is a risk of electric shock if handled incorrectly.
